Poultry Biosecurity Reviews
Pays for vet-led biosecurity reviews for poultry keepers. Applications close on 30 September 2028, reviews must be completed by 31 December 2028, and the scheme closes on 31 March 2029.
Rolling programmes
Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL)
Funds projects by farmers and land managers in Protected Landscapes that support nature, climate, people and place. You can apply until March 2029, though applications will close sooner if all funding is allocated, and funded projects must end by March 2029.
England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO)
Supports the creation of new woodland in England. You can apply at any time of the year, and applications take between three and five months to process.
Woodland Creation Planning Grant (WCPG)
Helps landowners and land managers prepare woodland creation plans ahead of planting. You can apply all year round.
Animal Health and Welfare Reviews (cattle, pigs, sheep)
Pays for vet-led health and welfare reviews and endemic disease follow-ups under an Improve Animal Health and Welfare agreement. You need at least 11 cattle, 21 sheep or 51 pigs kept in England. The service ends on 19 June 2027 and claims must be submitted by 19 September 2027.

Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 (SFI26) — Window 2
The second SFI26 application window, open to all farmers and land managers registered with the RPA with at least 3ha of eligible land. It opened on 22 September 2026 with a £233m budget and closed at 15:48 the same day, once Defra had enough applications to allocate it. Defra plans to offer an SFI scheme in 2027.
Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 (SFI26) — Window 1
Paid farmers in England to manage land sustainably. Window 1 opened on 30 June 2026 for small farms and farms without an existing ELM revenue agreement, and closed to applications at 11:59pm on 28 August 2026.
