These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of britfarmers.com (the “Site”) operated by BritFarmers (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account on BritFarmers. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
  • You must promptly update your account information if it changes.

3. User Guidelines

BritFarmers is a professional resource for the UK agricultural sector. All users must:

  • Be respectful, courteous, and supportive of fellow members.
  • Provide accurate and honest information, particularly regarding farming practices, regulations, and market data.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Not engage in harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abuse of any kind.
  • Not post spam, unsolicited advertising, or excessive self-promotion.
  • Not impersonate other individuals, organisations, or officials.
  • Not post content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or harmful.
  • Follow all applicable UK laws, including those relating to agriculture, animal welfare, and environmental protection.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on BritFarmers, including forum posts, comments, profile information, and images (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant BritFarmers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, reproduce, and promote your content on the Site and in connection with our services.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to post all User Content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

5. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, edit, move, or remove any content that violates these Terms or our guidelines. We may do so without prior notice. Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account.

6. Prohibited Activities

  • Using automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, collect, or download data from the Site without written permission.
  • Attempting to compromise Site security, access restricted areas, or interfere with the normal operation of the Site.
  • Uploading viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Using the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Site.
  • Collecting personal data of other members without their consent.
  • Creating fake accounts, fake reviews, or misleading listings in the Jobs Board, Marketplace, or Events sections.

7. Jobs Board, Marketplace, and Events

BritFarmers provides farming guides, news, and resources. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of listings posted by third parties. Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any agreements arising from these listings.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks on the Site (excluding User Content) are the property of BritFarmers or its licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use any part of the Site without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

It does not constitute professional agricultural, veterinary, legal, or financial advice. 10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BritFarmers and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site. This includes, without limitation, loss of profits, data, crops, livestock, or business opportunity, whether arising from contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BritFarmers and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at legal@britfarmers.com Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will remain in effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Severability
